Incident report November 2023

 

  • 01/11/2023 05:02am – Sutherland Street

A man filled up his vehicle at a garage and drove off without paying.

 

  • 02/11/2023 04:13am – Errol Spring

A client reported a break in at a warehouse. Response were dispatched and found that four armed men had tied up the guard before breaking into the office and damaging the alarm and CCTV.

They made off with cash and stock.

 

  • 03/11/2023 15:59pm – Cnr Oxland and Eagle Street

An outside security company reported a panic signal from a supermarket and the Protek team were dispatched. They were informed that an armed man had held up a cashier and fled with cash from the till. SAPS were informed.

 

  • 07/11/2023 01:50am – Qumbu

Multiple signals were received from a supermarket and the guards and SAPS were called. The guards could not be reached and SAPS did not have an available vehicle. The keyholder then reported intruders in the store and the sound of a bomb detonating. Control contacted the flying squad. It was later confirmed that the ATM’s had been bombed and all security systems damaged.

 

  • 09/11/2023 06:10am -Southernwood

An alarm activation was received from a residence. Response were informed that the client had awoken to a break in during the night. Access was gained via an unlocked window. A laptop and groceries were stolen.

 

  • 09/11/2023 11:57pm – Protek Security

Control received an anonymous call reporting that one of our officers had been shot near the location. Our team responded and found their team member had been shot and lost control of his vehicle. Sadly, his injuries were fatal.

 

  • 11/11/2023 03:02am – Maqanyeni Location

An alarm activation was received from a residence. The client requested assistance as intruders were trying to force the door. She reported the intruders had fled when they heard the alarm.

 

  • 13/11/2023 06:00am – Vulindlela Heights

Panic signals were received from a business and on arrival our response officers found the guard tied up. On inspection, it was discovered that intruders had gained access via the roof and made off with stock and cash from the safe. The security systems were damaged.

 

  • 13/11/2023 03:14am – Kuyasa Township

Response reacted to an alarm activation at a residence. Intruders had broken the front door and made off with the tv and an iron.

 

  • 15/11/2023 19:29pm – Elliot Street

Panic signals were received from a pharmacy. The response team were informed that two armed men had robbed the cash from the tills and fled. SAPS were informed.

 

  • 16/11/2023 03:09am – Callaway Park

An opening signal was received from a doctor’s rooms and response found a broken window. The client was informed.

 

  • 17/11/2023 02:18am – Prestwich Street

Client called for assistance as she could hear voices outside her residence. Intruders had stolen her water pipe.

 

  • 18/11/2023 14:50pm – Fortgale

A client called to report they had had break in the previous night. A girl who was home alone had been raped and clothes stolen. SAPS were called.

 

  • 19/11/2023 10:20am – Plaza Complex

An outside security company reported panic signals from a store. On arrival, response were informed that 5 armed men had forced the manager to open the safe which they emptied along with the tills.

 

  • 23/11/2023 02:31am – Ngangelizwe

After an alarm activation was received from a school, response discovered a break in. The keyholder said they could only attend in the morning so a Protek guard was posted until then.

 

  • 23/11/2023 13:05am – Excelsior Building

A cosmetic shop was robbed of cash by 2 armed men.

 

 

  • 23/11/2023 18:28pm – Mbuqe Park

A client returned to town after being away and found intruders had stolen her tv and decoder and trashed the house.

 

  • 23/11/2023 18:50pm – Sprigg Street

Multiple panic signals were received from a fast-food outlet. Armed suspects had fled with cash from the tills.

 

  • 23/11/2023 21:15pm – Qokolweni

Intruders were reported at a store and response were dispatched. Six suspects had posed as customers before drawing fire arms and fleeing in a Quantum with stock and cash.

 

  • 24/11/2023 12:41pm – Corner Elliot and bridge Streets.

A liquor store was held up by 2 armed suspects who fled with cash and alcohol.

 

  • 26/11/2023 12:52pm – Corner Eagle and Oxland Streets

A suspect disguised as a staff member in uniform attempted to enter a supermarket. The guard noticed he was armed and pressed the panic button. The suspect fled and SAPS were informed.

 

  • 29/11/2023 00:36am – Southernwood

Alarm signals were received from a residence where they found that an intruder had removed a window pane and stolen bank cards and an I.D. They had then attempted to steal a vehicle but had made off with just the battery. The Trellidoor and garage door had been unlocked.

 

  • 30/11/2023 00:50am – Vulindlela Heights

A warehouse guard saw intruders jumping into the yard and pressed the panic button to their outside security company. Shots were fired by the intruders and the Protek Team were called for backup. The intruders fled empty handed and no injuries were reported
