Incident Report September 2024

 

  • 02/09/2024 03:34am – Lurasini Location

 

A panic signal was received from a stop shop and response were dispatched. They found that intruders had forced open the roller door and attempted to steal the safe before making off with cigarettes and cash in a customer’s vehicle.

 

  • 04/09/2024 13:59pm – Cnr Elliot & Bridge Streets’

An outside security company reported a panic signal from a cash and carry and the Protek team were dispatched. The manager informed them that 3 armed suspects had fled with cash and stock.

 

  • 05/09/2024 04:07am – Ngangelizwe

A client heard a noise at her residence and pressed the panic button, response found the copper piping stolen and assisted the client in turning off the water.

 

  • 05/09/2024 13:35pm – Cnr Oxland & Eagle Streets

An outside security company reported receiving a panic signal from a cash and carry and response were dispatched. The manager said 2 armed men had fled with cash and stock. SAPS were informed.

 

  • 06/09/2024 01:51am – Sprigg Street

An outside security company reported a signal coming from the ATM inside a cash and carry.

The Protek team met the client at the building and found that intruders had gained access via a window, blown up the ATM and taken the money.

 

 

  • 06/09/2024 09:43am – Tsolo

 

Clients discovered a break in at a fast-food outlet when they opened. Intruders had gained access via the roof and damaged the alarm and CCTV system. They failed to open the safe and left with stock.

 

 

  • 07/09/2024 04:34am – Eagle Street

 

Two sheep were stolen from an animal welfare society.

 

 

  • 08/09/2024 19:59pm – Ikwezi Township

 

Client reported a burglary at her residence. The garage door had been forced open and tyres stolen. The alarm was not armed.

  • 09/09/2024 01:51am – Vulindlela heights

 

Response were dispatched to an alarm activation from a supermarket. On arrival they were met by the guard and 2 other men claiming to be guards. Response checked around the premises and when they went back to the exit only one guard remained. He said the other 2 had been intruders who had threatened him. They had gained access to the ceiling via the roof and tried to deactivate the alarm.

 

 

  • 09/09/2024 17:13pm – Madira Street

An armed robbery was reported from a clothing store. 2 armed men had fled with cash from the till.

 

 

  • 10/09/2024 09:18am – PRD Camp

 

Client called asking for response as she suspected a burglary at her residence. They found that intruders had cut her razor wire and disconnected the water before attempting to steal a geyser.

 

 

  • 10/09/2024 13:48pm – Cnr Bridge & Harrow Roads

 

A supermarket reported that 3 armed men had robbed cash from the till.

 

  • 12/09/24 00:25am – Gxulu Location

 

Panic signals were received from a supermarket and the client reported a robbery in progress. Response were dispatched and the client said the intruders had cut a hole in the wall before making off with cash and cigarettes. SAPS were informed.

 

 

  • 12/09/2024 00:58 – Qokolweni Location

 

Multiple alarm signals were received from a school and the caretaker was contacted. He reported that intruders had accessed the Principal’s office and stolen laptops and a printer. The alarm and CCTV systems were damaged.

 

  • 17/09-/2024 00:47am – Corana

 

Alarm activations were received from a business throughout the night but the guard kept reporting all to be fine. He later confirmed that intruders had forced the front door and damaged the alarm and CCTV systems, nothing was taken.

 

  • 18/09/2024 10:21am – York Road

 

An outside security company reported a burglary was discovered by clients when opening a clothing store. The intruders had gained access via the roof, opened the safe with a grinder and made off with cash and cell phones. The alarm and CCTV systems were destroyed.

 

 

  • 19/09/2024 21:11pm – Cnr Tembu and Bernard Schultz Roads

 

An alarm activation was received from a tile shop and a Protek response officer met the guard on site. Further alarm activations were received but our officer was unreachable. Back up vehicles were dispatched and SAPS were contacted. It was reported that when the first officer arrived, the guard asked him to check the property with him and suspects who had threatened the guard were lying in wait inside the building. They took our officer hostage, disarming him and taking his bulletproof vest before attempting to locate the safe. They were unsuccessful and left the property, the officer and guard were unharmed.

 

  • 21/09/2024 01:06am – Cnr Elliot and Sprigg Street

 

An outside security company requested response be dispatched to a furniture store as they were receiving signals. It was reported that intruders had gained access via a window and made off with stock, some of which was recovered. SAPS were in attendance.

 

  • 21/09/2024 13:38pm – York Road

 

An outside security company reported an armed robbery at a clothing store. 3 armed suspects took cash from the tills, one was caught by SAPS and arrested.

 

  • 23/09/2024 19:00pm – Protek Armed Response

 

One of our response officers was disarmed by 5 armed men whilst walking to his vehicle. They took his firearm and the vehicle keys. SAPS were informed.

 

  • 25/09/2024 19:42pm – Plaza Complex

 

An outside security company reported panic signals from a furniture store. Response were dispatched and reported that 10 armed suspects had driven off with a truck full of stock that was being offloaded. The vehicle was later found empty and abandoned. SAPS were informed.

 

  • 29/09/2024 14:45pm – Vulindlela Heights

 

A truck was reported stolen from an electrical business. The intruders had tampered with one of the sensors on the property.
