Incident Report September 2022

 

  • 01/09/2022 17:11 pm – Cnr York & Leeds Roads

An outside security company reported a panic signal from a building where a client was holding staff hostage. SAPS were informed and the problem was resolved.

 

  • 02/09/2022 18:41 pm – Sutherland Street

A panic signal was received from a retail store. On arrival response were informed that an armed robbery had occurred with cash taken.

 

  • 04/09/2022 10:18 am – Qumbu

Client reported a break in at business the previous night. Intruders had broken the front door and removed an ATM. It was confirmed that area of the store did not have alarm protection.

 

  • 05/09/2022 07:50 am – Vulindlela Heights

Client reported a burglary when they arrived at their business. The fence had been cut and the alarm damaged. A few items were stolen.

 

  • 09/09/2022 08:29 am – Vulindlela Heights

Client reported a break in when they opened their shop. It appears an intruder had gained access via the roof but had been disturbed by the alarm and the arrival of the Protek response team.

 

  • 07/09/2022 08:26 am – Mbuqe Park

Panic signals were received from a residence and on arrival, response were informed the clients had been robbed of 3 cell phones at gunpoint. The team searched the neighbourhood and found the suspects with the phones and the fire arm. The perpetrators were handed over to SAPS.

 

  • 08/09/2022 02:07 am – Southernwood

Panic signals were received from a warehouse where the guard reported that intruders had cut the fence and stolen alcohol from a vehicle parked on the premises. Later during patrol, the Protek team came across men carrying alcohol who fled when the saw the response vehicle, leaving the alcohol behind.

A guard pressed the panic when a group of suspects entered the premises. Response were dispatched and the suspects fled when they saw the Protek response team arrive.

 

  • 09/09/2022 12:39 pm – Elliot Street

Stock was stolen from a truck that was offloading at a hardware store.

 

  • 09/09/2022 15:31 pm – Mpindweni

A panic signal was received from a store and when the client was called, he said all was fine. The response team had already been dispatched and discovered there had been a robbery but the client did not want SAPS informed.

 

  • 10/09/2022 13:50 pm – Elliott Street

Tools were stolen from a hardware shop by robbers acting as customers.

 

  • 12/09/2022 07:59 am – Hillcrest

Client reported intruders had broken into a container, some items were found outside.

 

  • 14/09/2022 17:34 pm – Nelson Mandela Drive

Response were dispatched to a take away when the client reported a robbery. Five armed men had taken cash from the tills and fled.

 

  • 15/09/2022 22:54 pm – Corana

Intruders attempted to break into a store but the owner was sleeping inside and pressed the panic button before they could gain entry.

 

  • 16/09/2022 03:51 am – York Road

The guard at a furniture store reported the building on fire. On arrival, response found that SAPS were on site and contacted the fire brigade.

 

  • 18/09/2022 14:26 pm – Circus Triangle

An outside security company reported a robbery at a clothing store and response were dispatched. They found that suspects had robbed a truck that was being unloaded.

 

  • 19/09/2022 01:10 am – Highbury Pass

Two suspects forced their way into a butchery as the guard was closing, they stole meat and fled.

 

  • 19/09/2022 08:00 am – Vulindlela Heights

Client reported a laptop and safe keys having been stolen from a liquor store. An alarm activation signal had been received the previous night but the response team and on-site guard had been unable to find any point of entry.

 

  • 20/09/2022 06:26 am – Mpindweni

Intruders broke into a Junior Secondary School and stole food from the kitchen.

 

  • 20/09/2022 19:24 pm – Waterfall Park

A break in was reported at a residence. The response team found the clients belongings lying outside. The intruders had forced the back door.

 

  • 21/09/2022 23:51 pm – Nelson Mandela Drive

A vehicle filled up with diesel at a fuel station and fled without paying.

 

  • 22/09/2022 08:47 am – Cement Road

Client reported a burglary at their office. Batteries, extensions, and CPU were taken.

 

  • 22/09/2022 10:15 am – Ngebs Mall

A panic signal was received and response were informed a diesel tank had been stolen from a truck. The Protek team along with SAPS followed the suspects to Myezo Park where they were arrested.

 

  • 24/09/2022 06:48 am – Fortgale

Client reported a suspect in the office, response attended.

 

  • 24/09/2022 22:20 pm – Zimbane

A panic signal was received from a client who reported that intruders had stolen the guards cell phone.

 

  • 26/09/2022 08:42 am – Madeira Street

Client called to report that intruders had accessed their store via the roof.

 

  • 27/09/2022 10:13 – Qumbu

Client at a furniture shop reported that suspects had demanded cash but as there was none in the store, they fled with the safe keys.

 

  • 28/09/2022 08:04 am – Sutherland Street

Client at a wholesaler’s discovered intruders had gained access via the roof during the night and stolen groceries. There was no alarm.

 

  • 28/09/2022 11:49 am – Qumbu

The control room received multiple alarm activations from a furniture store during the night. The client, on-site security guard and SAPS were informed and all reported everything was fine. The next morning it was discovered that intruders had forced the back door and stolen a lot of stock.

 

  • 29/09/2022 00:20 am – Fortgale

Response were dispatched to a residence where they found the gate wide open and a window broken. They spotted two knives inside but the clients were not at home and nothing was stolen.
