Incident Report October 2024

 

  • 02/10/2024 18:00pm – Victoria Street

Response were dispatched after multiple panic signals were received from a store. 6 armed men had fled with cash and stock.

 

  • 05/10/2024 04:49am – Sutherland Street

Panic signals were received from a fuel station and on arrival, response were informed that 2 armed men had made off with cash and cigarettes. One of the suspects was reportedly wearing a security company jacket.

 

  • 05/10/2024 09:44am – Excelsior Building

An outside security company reported a break in had occurred at a clothing store the previous night.

The intruders had gained access via the roof but nothing was taken.

 

 

  • 05/10/2024 10:05am – Excelsior Building

 

Whilst our response supervisor was attending to the call out for the clothing store, staff from a fast-food outlet informed him that intruders had also gained access to their store via the roof. The alarm and cctv systems were damaged but nothing was taken.

 

 

  • 05/10//2024 23:00pm – Sprigg Street

 

Multiple activations were received from a cash and carry. Response met with the key holder and SAPS and found the DB board had been tampered with and the power was off, possibly in the hope the alarm would go flat and the store could be robbed undetected.

 

  • 08/10/2024 10:00am – King Edward Road

 

A client called to report a burglary in an area of their office which did not have alarm protection.

 

 

  • 11/10/2024 17:44pm – Ikwezi Extension

 

Panic signals were received from a residence and response were dispatched. The client informed them he had nearly been hijacked as he arrived home but managed to drive off.

 

 

  • 12/10/2024 21:449pm – Ncambedlana

 

Panic signals were received from a shop and the client reported that suspects had stolen a camera from the front of the shop and fled.

 

  • 14/10/2024 20:30pm – Madeira Street

 

An outside security company reported activations from a furniture store. Response went to check and heard noises coming from the roof. The key holder and SAPS were contacted and a suspect was caught in the ceiling.

 

 

  • 15/10/2024 – Sprigg Street

 

Client called requesting the response team at a builder’s store. On arrival they were informed an intruder had fled with cash from the till. SAPS were informed.

 

 

  • 16/10/2024 – Callaway Park

 

Response were dispatched to a residence where suspects had fled with copper piping.

 

 

  • 17/10/2024 – Ikwezi Township

 

Panic signals were received from a residence after suspects fled with copper piping.

 

 

  • 17/10/2024 12:43pm – Fortgale

 

Alarm signals were received from a residence, response found the copper piping had been stolen.

 

 

  • 18/10/24 – Blakeway Road

 

A guest’s vehicle was hijacked as he drove into a B&B. The tracking company and SAPS were informed.

 

 

  • 20/10/2024 22:59pm – Southernwood

 

Response were dispatched to a residence where the client reported a suspect had stolen a laptop through a window. The alarm was not armed.

 

 

  • 21/10/2024 06:20am – Vulindlela Heights

 

Alarm signals were received from a cash and carry, response were dispatched and the client contacted. Intruders had held the guard’s hostage after disarming them and made off with a small safe.

 

 

  • 21/10/2024 09:40am – Callaway Park

 

Client reported a burglary and the response supervisor went to investigate. They found the DB box had been interfered with and cables and copper piping stolen.

 

 

  • 21/10/2024 20:02pm – Libode

 

Alarm signals were received from a wholesaler and the client was contacted. It was reported the shop was on fire. The Fire Brigade and SAPS were informed.

 

 

  • 22/10/2024 00:17am – Mount Ayliff

 

A signal was received from a bottle store and control was unable to contact the guards. It was later discovered the guards had been held at gun point and two vehicles were loaded up with alcohol.

 

  • 22/10/2024 15:08pm – Oxland Street

 

Panic signals were received from a fabric shop, response were informed that 3 suspects had fled with cash from the till.

Signals were received from a Spaza shop. Intruders had attempted to cut through the wall but failed.

 

  • 24/10/2024 08:41am – Ncambedlana

 

Client reported that his gate motor battery had been stolen.

 

 

  • 25/10/2024 12:48pm – Sprigg Street

 

Panic signals were received from a supermarket, 2 armed men had fled with cash from the tills.

 

 

  • 25/10/2024 13:07 Cnr Bridge and Harrow Streets

 

4 armed men fled with cash from a supermarket’s tills.

 

 

  • 26/10/2024 23:15pm – York Road

 

An outside security company reported multiple alarms from a clothing store. Response arrived with the client and SAPS. Intruders had gained access via the roof and made off with cell phones. A Protek Guard was posted for the night.

 

  • 27/10/2024 21:05pm – Fortgale

 

A client reported a break in at her residence. The intruders had forced the kitchen door and stolen furniture and goods along with the copper piping.

 

  • 28/10/2024 – Corana

An Auto Spares shop burnt to the ground.

 

  • 29/10/2024 – Fortgale

 

An alarm was received from a residence and the Protek Team found the garage on fire. They were able to extinguish the fire which had been caused by a faulty generator.

 

 

  • 30/10/2024 03:42am – Blakeway Road

 

Copper piping was stolen from an office premises.

 

 

  • 30/10/2024 03:50am – Kuyasa Township

 

An armed suspect stole a customer’s cell phone at a trading store.

 

  • 31/10/2024 19:57pm – Wesley Street

 

2 armed men posing as customers, held up guests at a guest house and fled with a man’s car.

 

 

  • 31/10/2024 – Madeira Street

 

 

An outside security company reported a panic signal at a clothing store. On arrival, response were informed that 3 armed men had fled with cash from the tills.
