Incident Report May 2025

  • 01/05/2025 18:00pm – York Road

An outside security company reported that 6 armed men had robbed a clothing store of cash, stock, and cell phones.

 

  • 05/05/2025 00:43 – Vulindlela Heights

Response were dispatched to an alarm activation at a business. The guard met them and said all was fine. Soon after, more alarms were received and response returned with back up and the client arrived. On investigation, they found that intruders had held the security hostage with one of them posing as the guard in the first callout. They had broken the wall to the cash office and opened the safe with a grinder before emptying it. The camera and alarm systems were damaged.

 

  • 05/05/2025 08:18am – Ngebs Mall

An outside security company reported a robbery at a fast-food outlet. Intruders had gained access via the roof and attempted to open the safe with a grinder but had failed.

 

  • 06/05/2025 15:35pm – King Edward Road

Client reported a break in at their office. Intruders had broken into a room without alarm protection and stolen a laptop.

 

  • 07/05/2025 03:04am – New Brighton

Intruders stole copper piping from a church.

 

  • 07/05/2025 13:21pm – Fortgale

Copper piping was stolen from a residence.

 

  • 07/05/2025 16:12pm – Vulindlela Heights

Intruders attempted to steal a tyre form a truck parked in a courier’s yard but were deterred when staff pressed the panic button.

A Protek response officer was disarmed by 2 armed suspects after responding to an alarm signal at a business.

 

  • 08/05/202 12:28pm – Fortgale

Copper piping was stolen from a residence.

 

  • 10/05/2025 01:03pm – Callaway

An alarm activation was received from a Church property. Intruders had broken the bathroom window and security bars but were deterred by the alarm.

 

  • 11/05/2025 08:51am – Owen Street

A client reported an overnight burglary when they opened their shop. The response investigator found intruders had gained access via the roof and made off with cash and stock after destroying the alarm system. SAPS were in attendance.

 

  • 12/05/2025 01:19am – Tutor Ndamase Road

Response discovered an attempted break in at a fast-food outlet.

 

  • 12/05/2025 08:53am – Hyde Street

Client reported that suspects had broken a window and stolen pillows from an office.

 

  • 12/05/2025 15:12pm – Northcrest

Copper piping was stolen from a residence.

 

  • 14/05/2025 08:33am – Blakeway Road

Client reported a break-in at their office. Intruders had forced a window but nothing was stolen.

 

  • 14/05/2025 09:53am – Fortgale

Response were dispatched after alarm signals were received from a residence. Intruders had broken a window and made off a tv. The electric fence and alarm system had been damaged. SAPS were informed.

 

  • 01:21am – Elliotdale

Intruders stole goods from a hardware store.

 

  • 17/05/2025 15:38pm – Blakeway Road

A burglary was reported by a business. Intruders had forced the door and made off with electrical goods and a laptop and cell phone. The alarm was not armed at the time.

 

  • 17/05/205 15:50pm – Nelson Mandela Drive

Client reported a broken window at their office, response found that no one had entered the building.

 

  • 18/05/2025 00:20am – Ziphunzana

Panic signals were received from a shop and a response team were dispatched. Robbers had gained entry via the roof and made off with stock and cash whilst the clients were inside. SAPS were contacted but did not have a vehicle to send out.

 

  • 19/05/2025 00:53am – Southernwood Complex

Client requested a response team after receiving notification from their cctv system of an intruder at their bottle store. On arrival it was found that intruders had entered via the roof and damaged the alarm and cctv systems.

 

  • 19/05/2025 08:45am – Hospital Road

Client reported that intruders had forced the front door of his residence and made off with several laptops. Due to having no electricity for the entire weekend, the alarm battery was flat.

 

  • 20/05/2025 03:19am – Madeira Street

 

Intruders removed the gate and security bars at an office. The client said he would check in the morning whether they had entered the building.

 

  • 21/05/2025 13:52pm – Chatham Street

An outside security company reported panic signals from a furniture store. Response were informed that 2 suspects had stolen 2 plasma tv’s. SAPS were informed.

 

  • 22/05/2025 12:33pm – Fortgale

Intruders broke into a garage at a residence and stole a bag of clothes.

 

  • 23/05/2025 15:54pm – Ikwezi Township

An air conditioning unit was stolen from a club during a power failure.

 

  • 24/05/2025 00:52am – Prestwich Street

An alarm activation was received from a business when intruders forced the door. The client confirmed nothing had been taken.

 

  • 26/05/2025 00:31am – Stanford Terrace

Intruders forced the back door of a business and stole a grass cutting machine.

 

  • 29/05/2025 16:14pm – Fortgale

 

An alarm activation was received from a business and response found the garage window was broken. The client confirmed they did not enter.
