Incident Report May 2023

 

1) 02/05/2023 10:15am – Sibangweni

A positive break in was reported at a school. The alarm was damaged but nothing was taken.

 

2) 03/05/2023 22:59pm – Vulindlela Heights

An outside security company reported receiving panic signals from a courier company. The Protek team were dispatched and confirmed a robbery had occurred. A driver had been hijacked in Northcrest and forced to return to the depot where the suspects disarmed the guards before making off with firearms, cell phones and parcels. No one was injured and SAPS were informed.

 

3) 04/05/2023 14:30pm – Nelson Mandela Drive

Panic signals were received from a warehouse. On arrival, response were informed that 3 suspects had fled with alcohol.

 

4) 05/05/2023 08:27am – Elliot Street

Suspects entered a furniture store and fled with all the televisions that they loaded into their vehicle.

 

5) 06/05/2023 02:39am – Nelson Mandela Drive

A man put R 800.00 of fuel into his vehicle at a garage before driving off without paying.

 

6) 07/05/2023 20:005pm – Libode

A guard activated the alarm at a warehouse after thieves stole copper piping.

 

7) 08/05/2023 08:23am – Progress Street

A break in was reported by a business when they opened for the day and discovered stock stolen from the store room.

 

8) 09/05/2023 01:45am – Buttercup Street

We received a tip off that there were intruders at a premises and response were dispatched. They discovered the front door had been forced and a television had been removed but left in the yard.

 

 

9) 09/05/2023 00:30am – Qokolweni

A store owner called for assistance as there were intruders in the shop. Response reported that access had been gained through a window and cash stolen from the till.

 

10) 10/05/2023 11:53am – Libode

Panic signals were received from a pharmacy and control contacted the key holders who confirmed cash had been taken from the till by 2 armed men.

 

11) 10/05/2023 18:43pm – Willowvale

Client called from a fast-food outlet to report they had been held up by 2 armed men who fled with cash from the till. SAPS were unreachable.

 

12) 12/05/2023 06:48am – Delville Road

Alarm signals were received from an office and the response team dispatched. A vehicle had been broken into on the premises.

 

13) 12/05/2023 15:51pm – Corner of Elliott & Sprigg Streets

An outside security company reported a panic signal from a furniture store. It was reported that 4 men armed with knives had stolen stoves and a music system.

 

14) 13/05/2023 23:25pm – Southernwood

Client requested response go to her home after she received calls from her vehicle tracking company. On arrival they found her residence had been broken into and her vehicle stolen. SAPS were informed. The vehicle was later recovered and one suspect was arrested.

 

15) 16/05/2023 22:56pm – Willowvale

The manager of a burial scheme was taken from his home and forced to open the office. The alarm was activated and then disarmed. We contacted SAPS and they reported the suspects had fled with cash before they arrived.

 

16) 18/05/2023 07:47am – Northcrest

Response were dispatched to a residence where they discovered a hole in the fence and a damaged sensor.

 

17) 18/05/2023 – Gxulu

Our technicians were about to install an alarm system at a spaza shop when it was robbed by 3 armed men. They fled with cash, airtime, cigarettes, and our technician’s cell phones.

 

18) 18/05/2023 14:45pm – Tabase

An armed robbery occurred at a store where 4 suspects fled with cash, phones, and cigarettes. SAPS were informed.

 

19) 19/05/2023 09:00am – Lusikisiki

The client reported a break in at a warehouse overnight. The petty cash had been taken and the alarm damaged.

 

20) 19/05/2023 18:25pm – Chatam Street

Response were dispatched when a panic signal was received from a fast-food outlet. They were informed that cash had been stolen from the tills during a robbery.

 

21) 19/05/2023 21:56pm – Nelson Mandela Drive

A fuel station reported that the occupants of a Polo put in fuel and drove off without paying.

 

22) 20/05/2023 14:33pm – Bongweni Location

Three men robbed a shop of cash and drove away.

 

23) 20/05/2023 23:05pm – Mqanduli

An illegal opening signal was received from a warehouse. The guards were uncontactable so SAPS were informed and the Protek team dispatched. It was confirmed that the manager had been taken from her home and forced to open the store. Cash was stolen by 3 armed men.

 

24) 21/05/2023 17:29pm – Willowvale

A panic signal was received from a fast-food outlet, it was confirmed that 2 armed men had made off with cash from the tills.

 

25) 22/05/2023 17:36pm – Southernwood

Our response investigator responded to a call from a client. There was no sign of forced entry but an internal door was broken and items were missing. The alarm had not been armed.

26) 23/05/2023 16:20pm – Norwood

A panic signal was received from a fuel station and response attended. A woman had been drawing cash from the ATM and her card was stolen by 2 men who fled.

 

27) 24/05/2023 12:54pm – Mbuqr Extension

An alarm activation was received from a residence and response discovered the front window and burglar bar had been forced. Thieves had attempted to steal the copper piping. The clients were away at the time.

 

28) 26/05/2023 02:40am – Nelson Mandela Drive

Response discovered a break in at a supermarket after spotting the receiving door open. The client confirmed that intruders had stolen a trolley.

 

29) 25/05/2023 17:11pm – Ngebs Mall

Response were dispatched to a jewellery store when panic signals were received. It was reported that 3 armed men had demanded cell phones from the display cabinet before fleeing in a Quantum.

 

30) 27/05/2023 01:02am – Qokolweni Location

Panic signals were received from a store and while response were on route, the client called to confirm intruders on the premises. Back up was dispatched and SAPS contacted. The intruders had shot at the door and when it did not open, they had tied a rope to it and pulled it with their vehicle. Cash and stock were stolen.

 

31) 31/05/2023 00:45am – Sutherland Street

 

Alarm signals were received from a supermarket and response found the shop burning. The client, fire department and SAPS were informed.
