Protek Incident Report – July 2022

 

  • 01/07/22 17:12pm – York Road

A panic signal was received from a clothing store and on arrival our response team were informed that 4 armed men had forced the manager to open the safe and had fled with cash.

 

  • 02/07/22 17:55 – Sutherland Street

The staff at a shop suspected a man was planning to rob them. They asked Protek and SAPS to search everyone in the store and the suspect was detained by SAPS.

 

  • 04/07/22 07:12am – Oxland Street

It was reported that 2 armed men pretended to be customers at a supermarket and threatened the cashiers before taking cash from the till.

 

  • 04/07/22 13:57pm – Park Homes

A client reported a break in at their residence. The response team were dispatched and caught the suspect in the house and handed him over to SAPS.

 

  • 07/07/22 14:45pm – Bridge Street

A cash and carry was robbed by a group of armed men who took the cash from the tills. SAPS were alerted.

 

  • 10/07/22 23:24pm – Elliot Street

An outside security company reported an alarm activation and movement inside a furniture shop. The Protek teams responded, calling SAPS for back up. On arrival the suspects were found inside having gained access via the roof. Nothing was stolen.

 

  • 19/07/22 18:47pm – Nelson Mandela Drive

Six armed men were reported to have robbed a shop of cigarettes and alcohol.

 

  • 20/07/22 09:27am – Kuyasa Township

A client reported a break in at her residence. On arrival the response team found the gate motor had been removed and the side door forced open. The client opened a case with SAPS.

 

  • 21/07/22 13:43pm – Ngebs Mall

A man was robbed in the parking lot after his vehicle was blocked and the security guard forced to knock on the car window. When the victim opened his window to talk to the guard the suspects robbed him of cash.

 

  • 23/07/22 03:34am – Myezo

Four suspects attempted to break in to a business premises but were seen by the guard who started shooting at them. The suspects returned fire and the guard and one suspect were shot and injured. The rest of the suspects escaped. There were no fatalities and SAPS were informed.

 

  • 23/07/22 21:30pm – Fortgale

The Protek response team were dispatched to a residence where a robbery had occurred. Five armed men had forced their way into the house and stolen cell phones and clothing. They had demanded bank pins and fled in the client’s vehicle.

 

  • 24/07/22 21:46pm – Sutherland Street

A fuel station reported having been robbed of cash from the tills. No panic signal was received in the control room.

 

  • 25/07/22 23:32pm – Norwood

An attempted robbery was confirmed at a guest house where two armed men had demanded cash and a firearm from the receptionist. When the panic button was pressed, the suspects fled.

 

  • 26/07/22 00:17am – Vulindlela Heights

An alarm activation was received from a business and the response team were dispatched but didn’t find anything wrong. The guard then phoned to report people in the premises and the team returned to find that the padlock on the front door had been cut and the client arrived to check but there was no one inside the building.

 

  • 26/07/22 01:04am – Southridge Park

A refrigerated truck was stolen from a guest house, the guard reported that 3 suspects had cut the fence. The suspects damaged two other vehicles and the gate pillar whilst driving away.

 

  • 26/07/22 21:43pm – Southernwood

A client called to report that intruders had lifted the gate of it’s track and forced the front door of the residence open. Clothes and keys were stolen.
