The Protek response team responded to a panic signal from an accommodation establishment. A disagreement had occurred between a guest and a guard but was then resolved.
- 02/02/2022 06:04 am – Vulindlela Heights
An alarm activation signal was received from a business premises and the team discovered the roller door half way open. The client arrived and confirmed that the alarm had deterred the intruders and nothing had been taken.

A fast-food restaurant called reporting that their generator had been tampered with. It appears the intruders were looking for the generator battery but staff had moved the battery inside the previous night.

An outside security company called in reporting a panic signal at a Cash and Carry, The Protek armed response team were dispatched. On it was arrival it was confirmed that a robbery had occurred with 3 armed men stealing an estimated R 20,000.00 from the cash office.
- 06/02/2022 19:28 pm – Vulindlela Heights
The keyholder at a business was called after receiving an illegal opening and he confirmed a positive break in. Intruders had gained access via a window in an area that had no alarm protection. A laptop and cell phone were among the stolen items.
- 09/02/2022 10:57 am – York Road
The Protek team responded to a panic signal from a business. The manager had been robbed of an estimated R 20,000.00 by 4 armed men outside the shop as he was leaving for the bank.

The response team attended to a panic signal at a B&B with the client reporting a robbery. The team arrived and confirmed a robbery of R 500.00 from the reception.
- 14/02/2022 06:11 am – Ikwezi
The keyholder of a school was called after receiving an alarm activation, he confirmed that intruders had broken into the first aid room but nothing had been taken.
- 14/02/2022 08:52 am – Vulindlela Heights
Client called to report that a car parked at a business premises had been broken into, the spare wheel was stolen and cables damaged.
- 14/02/2022 06:00am – Flagstaff
Multiple signals were received from a hotel. The keyholders and guards were contacted and the guards reported seeing people on the roof. The supervisor checked and all appeared to be ok. Later it was discovered the intruders had gained entry by cutting holes in the roof and damaging the alarm. They had attempted to access the cash office.

An alarm was activated at a residence and the keyholder confirmed everything was fine. He later called again to report intruders were trying to steal the gate motor and response were dispatched.

The Protek team responded to an alarm activation at a business and discovered intruders had attempted to force the back door but were deterred by the alarm.
- 16/02/2022 01:58 am – Victoria Street
An attempted break in was attended to at a sports club where a broken window was discovered. The client arrived and confirmed that the intruders did not gain access.
- 16/02/2022 01:25 am – Ikwezi Township
Response reacted to an alarm activation at a school. On arrival they confirmed a positive break in and caught a suspect. The suspect claimed to be working at the building but the guards denied knowing him and the keyholders were unavailable to open a case. The suspect was left with the guards and in the morning, SAPS arrived to take him away. SAPS later contacted us to say the suspect was mentally unwell and had been released. CCTV then revealed that 8 suspects had forced the burglar bars and broken a window but nothing was stolen.

An inebriated passenger was informed he would not be allowed to embark on a long-distance bus as he was fighting with people.
- 18/02/2022 01:13 am – Tabase
The Protek team responded to multiple signals from a shop. Whilst enroute the client reported intruders on the premises. Both Protek and SAPS arrived to discover a hole in the fence but access had not been gained to the building.
- 18/02/2022 03:03 am – Southernwood
A panic signal was received from a guest house and the client reported a guest’s car had been stolen from the premises. The guard on site confirmed that 4 armed men had cut the electric fence and bypassed the gate motor. They pushed the vehicle out of the yard as it was non runner and towed it away with a Fortuner.

A suspect was caught by the armed response at the receiving side of a store. The suspect was handed over to the business’s security company.

Client reported a suspect on her premises and armed response were dispatched. The suspect was caught and handed over to SAPS.
- 24/02/2022 14:00 pm – Vulindlela Heights
The response team were to dispatched to a business when the client reported an active break in. The team arrived and caught the suspect who was taken to SAPS.
- 26/02/2022 05:13 am – Wesley Street
Client called to report a car had been stolen from the premises. He was alerted by the tracking company when the battery was disconnected and on arrival discovered the gate damaged and opened. SAPS were informed.
