Incident Report August 2022

 

  • 02/08/2022 00:40 am – Highbury Extension

A television was stolen from a home while the residents were sleeping. The intruders cut the Trellidoor and forced the sliding door open. The alarm was activated and the intruders ran away before the response team arrived.

 

  • 03/08/2022 02:28 am – Qweqwe Location

A client contacted control for the response team when they heard a noise on the premises. On arrival the team confirmed there had been a burglary in on the of the rooms that did not have alarm protection, a television had been taken.

 

  • 03/08/2022 03:53 am – Sidwadwa View

The Protek response team were called to residence where it was discovered that intruders had jumped over an electric fence and entered the house by an unlocked door. A laptop and a cell phone were stolen.

 

  • 03/08/2022 14:00 pm – Cnr Eagle / Oxland Streets

An outside security company called to report a robbery in progress at a supermarket. All teams were dispatched to assist. On arrival the shop was closed with SAPS inside as it was reported that the suspects were still there. The cash from 2 tills was stolen but no arrests were made.

 

  • 05/08/2022 02:45 am – Southridge Park

A panic signal was received from a residence and on arrival, response found that intruders had entered an unlocked door. They had taken a laptop, cell phone and clothes.

 

  • 05/08/2022 08:59 am – Southernwood

A client returned home to find her door opened, a laptop and cell phones had been stolen.

The alarm had not been armed.

 

  • 06/08/2022 18:04 pm – Owen Street

The Protek team responded to a panic signal from a bottle store. On arrival they were informed that several men had held the staff at gun point and emptied the tills while others were looting bottles of alcohol.

 

 

  • 06/08/2022 20:24 pm – Southernwood

A client was robbed at a guest house after an intruder climbed in the window and took his wallet and cell phone at gun point.

 

  • 07/08/2022 15:50 pm – New Brighton

Response were dispatched after a panic signal was received from a business and were informed that the client had been hijacked of his vehicle. The Protek team searched the neighbourhood and found the vehicle abandoned with the battery missing.

 

  • 08/08/2022 18:00 pm – Elliot Street

Response reacted to a panic signal from a Cell Shop and on arrival were informed that a man had attempted to rob them. He fled when the client pressed the panic. The team searched for the suspect, found him, and handed him over to SAPS.

 

  • 09/08/2022 20:31 pm – Southernwood.

A client pressed the panic button after she heard a noise. On arrival, response found that a suspect had jumped the fence and opened the garage door. They had fled with a grass cutting machine.

 

  • 12/08/202202:31 am – Norwood

Armed response were called to a B&B where the client reported that 2 armed men had beaten up the security guard and taken his cell phone and the gate keys.

 

  • 13/08/2022 01:58 am – Nelson Mandela Drive

Client confirmed there had been a suspect on the premises who had broken a window and run away when the alarm had activated.

 

  • 13/08/2022 15:36 pm – Northcrest

Control received an anonymous call reporting a burglary at a house.  Response was dispatched and confirmed a positive break in. The front door was broken with belongings strewn around and outside with the power turned off. It could not be confirmed if anything had been taken as the clients are not staying there.

 

  • 15/08/2022 09:42 am – Sprigg Street

Panic signals were received from a hardware store and the Protek team were dispatched. The client called enroute and reported a robbery in progress. All response teams were then dispatched for back up. It was reported that three armed men had emptied the tills and taken cash from a truck driver who was filling his tank.

  • 15/08/2022 18:24 pm – Ngebs Mall

Card scammers were spotted in the mall but when the security chased them, they escaped breaking the glass entrance in the process.

 

  • 16/08/2022 02:13 am – Norwood

Response reacted to a panic from a guest house and on arrival were informed that 4 armed men wearing balaclavas had come out of the B&B forcing open the gate and left.

 

  • 17/08/2022 19:32 pm – Tsolo

Suspects jumped over the fence of a bottle store and stole cases of beer that were packed outside.

 

  • 18/08/2022 07:33 am – Southernwood

Client called to report a vehicle had been stolen from her yard in the night. Access had been gained via an unlocked gate.

 

  • 20/08/2022 13:01 pm – Hillcrest

A client called to report a burglary and response were dispatched. They found the satellite dish had been stolen and the garage door and a sensor had been tampered with.

 

  • 22/08/2022 07:06 am – Matiwane Street

Clients who were away from home called to report that they had been notified by their neighbours of a break in. The team were dispatched and confirmed a positive burglary with the kitchen door having been forced. It was reported that a stereo, television, and a microwave had been stolen.

The power was off.

 

  • 22/08/2022 11:01 am – Ngebs Mall

3 suspects were arrested on suspicion of attempting to steal a vehicle form the bottom parking lot.

When they realised they had been spotted trying to break in to a Nissan NP200 van they tried to escape but the exits were locked and SAPS arrived.

 

  • 24/08/2022 13:50 pm – Errol Spring Avenue

 

An outside security company called in a panic signal from a warehouse. The response team were dispatched and informed that 2 armed men had pointed a gun at a female staff member and had taken two fridges.

 

  • 25/08/2022 01:22 am – Blakeway Road

 

Response were dispatched to a call out where a client reported that an armed suspect had taken a guest’s laptop, cell phone and cash.

 

 

  • 25/08/2022 15:45 pm – Timber Street

 

Five armed suspects emptied the tills of a business and fled.

 

 

  • 26/08/2022 01:28 am -Nelson Mandela Drive

 

A customer attempted to leave a petrol station without paying after putting in R 800.00 of fuel.

The attendants were able to remove their car keys and an arrest was made.

 

 

  • 26/08/2022 15:01 pm – Ngebs Mall

 

A security guard was stabbed in the basement when he attempted to stop a man from stealing crates.

The man who stabbed the guard was caught by onlookers and beaten up. EMS were called.

 

 

  • 29/08/2022 01:16 am – Nelson Mandela Drive

 

Control received an alarm activation from a shop and response were dispatched. On arrival the security guard informed them that seven armed men had pointed their guns at him and forced the door. When the alarm went off they fled but took the guards cell phone and his money.

 

 

  • 29/08/2022 15:01 pm – Nelson Mandela Drive

 

An armed robbery was confirmed at a fast-food outlet. Six armed men took the staff and customers cell phones.

 

 

  • 29/08/2022 20:20 pm – Prestwich Street

 

The Protek team responded to an alarm activation and reported a positive robbery. Armed men entered the premises and fired a warning shot instructing the guard not to do anything. One of the students was beaten and robbed of his cell phone, jacket and television.

 

 

  • 29/08/2022 22:49 pm – Ngangelizwe

 

A positive break in was confirmed at a Junior Secondary School. It occurred in the store room where there is no alarm cover.
