Incident Report April 2023

 

1) 01/04/2023 01:54am – Viedgesville

Panic signals were received from a store and when control contacted the guard, he reported intruders were forcing their way in. The Protek response team were dispatched and SAPS were informed. It was confirmed that 6 armed suspects had unsuccessfully attempted to gain access.

 

2) 01/04/2023 12:35pm – York Road

Response reacted to panic signals from a store where it was reported that armed men had stolen cash from the tills and fled.

 

3) 02/04/2023 06:16am – Callaway Park

Response confirmed a break in at a business premises after an alarm activation was received. A water pump and a fan had been stolen.

 

4) 04/04/2023 15:27pm – Plaza Complex

An attempted robbery was reported at a clothing store. The manager was forced to open the safe but suspects fled empty handed when a cashier pressed the panic button.

 

5) 04/04/2023 16:02pm – York Road

A shoplifter was caught at a clothing store and dealt with by the manager.

 

6) 04/04/2023 16:31pm – Bridge Street

An outside security reported an armed robbery at a clothing store. All Protek response teams were dispatched and on arrival were informed that 2 armed suspects had fled with cash from the tills.

 

7) 04/04/2023 16:31pm – Bridge Street

2 armed men made off with cash from the tills of a wholesaler. SAPS were informed.

 

8) 04/04/2023 – Butterworth

The manager called for assistance after a man being chased by a mob ran into the store followed by the mob. SAPS were informed.

 

9) 05/04/2023 09:25am – Qumbu

Multiple panics were received from a supermarket, the key holders were contacted and confirmed a robbery in progress. SAPs were contacted but were unavailable. It was reported that 4 suspects had attempted to rob a cash in transit van.

 

10) 05/04/2023 09:07am – Ngangelizwe

Response reacted to a panic signal from a church where the guard informed them that intruders had stolen a gas stove. The stove was later recovered.

 

11) 08/04/2023 04:11am – Southernwood

A client called for help after she was informed her house was being broken into while she was away. Response confirmed that intruders had gained entry through the back door and stolen furniture and other belongings, some of which was still in the yard. The alarm was damaged.

 

12) 08/04/2023 13:51 Mqanduli

Multiple panics were received from a warehouse and when contacted, the client confirmed a robbery in progress. SAPS were unavailable. The intruders had beaten the guard and stolen alcohol before fleeing.

 

13) 11/04/2023 08:38am – Wesley Street

A burglary was reported at church with appliances having been stolen. No alarm activation was received.

 

14) 11/04/2023 11:29am – Fortgale

A client called for armed response after an intruder broke into his house and stole a watch.

 

15) 11/04/2023 19:20pm – Stanford Terrace

A positive break in was confirmed at a residence, possibly over the Easter weekend.

 

16) 12/04/2023 – Ngebs Mall

A robbery was reported at a clothing store with cash and phones having been stolen.

 

17) 13/04/2023 12:40pm – Cumberland Street

A gate motor was stolen from a residence.

18) 13/04/2023 19:12pm – Ngebs Mall

A shoplifter was caught by the guard and the clothes recovered. SAPS were called.

 

19) 15/04/2023 19:12pm – Sutherland Street

An armed robbery was reported from a fast-food outlet. The men made off with coins from the till.

 

20) 16/04/2023 13:19pm – Sprigg Street

Panic signals were received from a hardware store and whilst the response team were enroute, the client reported a robbery in progress. Backup was sent and on arrival were informed that 2 armed men had beaten the security guard and fled with cash from the tills. SAPS were called.

 

21) 18/04/2023 16:50pm – Madeira Street

Intruders broke into a back room that had no alarm cover at a business premises.

 

22) 19/04/2023 19:35pm – Maiden Farm

An attempted break in was reported.

 

23) 20/04/2023 06:06am – Southernwood

A client reported a burglary at a residence. When response arrived, they were informed that intruders had tried to steal a vehicle but failed.

 

24) 06:24am – Madeira Street

Response were on patrol when they saw people running from a business premises. On inspection they discovered a back door was broken on a room with no alarm cover. The client was informed.

 

25) 21/04/2023 22:48pm – Lujecweni Location

An attempted break in was confirmed at a store.

 

26) 22/04/2023 17:54pm – Southridge Park

Copper pipes were stolen from a residence with no outdoor alarm protection.

 

27) 22/04/2023 03:55am – Kuyasa Township

Response answered a call from a client whose tenant had been escorted home by intruders who stole his laptop, gate remote and house keys.

 

28) 23/04/2023 02:29am – Myezo

Panic signals were received from a fuel station. The response team reported that 6 armed men had fled with cash from the tills after harming a staff member. SAPS were called.

 

29) 23/04/2023 23:58pm – Tutor Ndamase Road

An attempted robbery was reported at a fast-food outlet. A guard spotted suspects trying to steal a truck and pressed the panic signal. The suspects fled leaving behind their vehicle which was later found to be stolen.

 

30) 22/04/2023 16:34pm – Bridge Street

An outside security company reported a robbery in progress at a clothing store. All Protek teams were dispatched and on arrival, were informed that 3 armed men had made off with all the cell phones on display.

 

31) 25/04/2023 08:55a, – Vulindlela Heights

Two truck batteries and a spare wheel were reported stolen from a business the previous night.

 

32) 26/04/2023 21:04pm – Cnr Sprigg & Elliot Streets

Response spotted suspects fleeing from a furniture store. The keyholder and SAPS arrived and it was confirmed that nothing had been stolen.

 

33) 27/04/2023 09:57am – Stanford Terrace

A client was robbed of his vehicle at a residence. SAPS were informed.

 

34) 27/04/2023 10:21am – Callaway Park

Copper piping was stolen from a premises with the electric fence and gate being damaged in the process.

 

35) 27/04/2023 11:48am – Sprigg Street

10 suspects stole a large truck tyre from a business.

 

36) 30/04/2023 23:28pm – Ikwezi

An allegedly intoxicated SAPS member was reported to have put fuel in his vehicle at a garage and driven away without paying. The petrol attendants said they knew where he was stationed and would pay him a visit.

 

37) 30/04/2023 23:55pm – Mbuqe Park

Response were dispatched after a client reported an intruder at her residence. They found tools in the yard that were suspected to be used to gain entry.

 

38) 30/04/2023 17:43pm – Sutherland Street

Clients requested the response team after they recognised suspicious men at a fast-food outlet as having robbed them previously. SAPS were called and took the men in for questioning.
