Incident Report March 2024

 

  • 04/03/2024 09:24am – Meaker Street

A burglary was reported at a residence, our supervisor found the intruders had tripped the main switch before gaining access via the veranda ceiling and making off with laptops and other goods.

 

  • 05/03/2024 00:11am – Hillcrest Extension

Multiple panics were received from a residence and the client reported intruders on site. Response discovered an attempted vehicle theft.

 

  • 05/03/204 08:39am – Delville Road

Intruders accessed an attorney’s property via a hole in the fence, forced the back door and stole 2 laptops.

 

  • 05/03/2024 11:11am – Ngeb’s Mall

An outside security company reported panics from an electronics store. On arrival, response were informed of an armed robbery with a large value of cell phones having been taken.

 

  • 07/03/2024 06:28am – Cnr Eagle & Oxland Streets

An outside security company reported an armed robbery at a supermarket and the Protek team were dispatched. Intruders had arrived at 4am and held the guard hostage while waiting for the opening staff. The manager was forced to open the safe but due to a time lock, they panicked and fled empty handed.

 

  • 07/03/204 13:16pm – City Centre Complex

A robbery was reported at a courier’s depot. Suspects armed with knifes had stolen parcels that were being offloaded.

 

  • 09/03/2024 03:37am – Delville Road

Alarm activations were received from an office and response found a positive break in with access gained via a window. A Protek guard was posted for the night until the building could be secured.

 

  • 10/03/2024 13:52pm – Libode

A warehouse guard called to report a robbery in progress and SAPS were called to attend. The client later confirmed armed men had loaded a vehicle with alcohol, SAPS did not arrive.

 

  • 10/03/2024 13:41pm – Meaker Street

Multiple alarm activations were received from a residence, the client was called and response dispatched. Intruders had broken a window and fled with a wi-fi router.

 

  • 10/03/2024 16:30pm – Vulindlela Heights

Client called for assistance as there was a fire at their business premises. Response and the Fire brigade were dispatched.

 

  • 11/03/2024 13:36pm – Mbuqe Park

An alarm activation was received from a residence and response found the kitchen door broken in. The client was called and confirmed nothing had been stolen.

 

  • 14/03/2024 – York Road

A client reported an armed robbery at a clothing store. Cash from the tills and the guard’s personal belongings were stolen.

 

  • 17/03/2024 23:54pm – Mbuqe Park

The guard called to report intruders at a butchery and a panic signal was received. Response were dispatched and spotted a suspicious vehicle on approach. Backup arrived and the occupants of the vehicle began shooting at response. The intruders got away with 2 Protek vehicles shot at. SAPS were informed.

 

  • 21/03/2024 15:50pm – York Road

A panic signal was received from a mini mart and response were dispatched. Theye were informed there was a robbery at a neighbouring clothing store with staff being held hostage while the tills were emptied.

 

  • 24/03/2024 19:30pm – Viedgiesville

Client reported intruders at a bottle store. SAPS were informed and the guard later stated that 10 armed suspects gained access via a window using an angle grinder. The arrival of the police scared them off empty handed.

 

  • 27/03/2024 03:34am – Delville Road

Response discovered a positive break in at an office after an activation signal was received.

 

  • 29/03/2024 03:36am – Sprigg Street

An alarm activation was received from a co-op and response found the roller door open with the store’s generator near the gate and a car parked nearby. While response waited for back up, suspects fled the store empty handed.

 

  • 29/03/2024 15:25pm – Cnr Bridge & Elliot Street

An outside security company reported a panic signal from a supermarket. On arrival, response were informed that 2 armed suspects had emptied the tills.

 

  • 29/03/2024 00:36am – Chatam Street

An outside security company reported an alarm activation at a furniture store. Response arrived along with SAPS and the manager. One suspect was caught while a second suspect was hiding in the ceiling until he too was located.

 

  • 31/03/2024 13:39pm – Ncambedlana

Response reacted to a panic signal from a trading store. 2 armed suspects had made off with airtime, meat and a cell phone.
