Protek Incident Report August 2023

  • 01/08/2023 08:22am – Prestwich Avenue

Alarm signals were received from a residence and the response team were dispatched. They reported copper piping had been stolen.

 

  • 03/08/2023 16:31pm – Chris Hani Park

Panic signals were received from a residence and the client called to report 2 intruders had jumped the wall and entered via an unlocked door. 2 laptops were stolen.

 

  • 03/08/2023 09:07am – Ngebs Mall

A take-away outlet caught fire which was brought under control by the staff. The fire department and SAPS were informed.

 

  • 04/08/2023 17:53pm – Sprigg Street

Two armed men stole cash from the till of a supermarket after forcing their way past the security guards.

 

  • 05/08/2023 17:28pm – Libode

A security guard at a warehouse called to report an intruder on the property. He had called SAPS but they had not responded. The intruder stole copper piping.

 

  • 07/08/2023 08:22am – Blakeway Road

Client called to report that generators and gas cylinders had been stolen from her residence after intruders had climbed through an open window of the back flat.

 

  • 07/08/2023 17:14pm – Bridge Street

Panic signals were received from a cash and carry and whilst response were enroute, the client called to confirm an armed robbery. 13 men had entered the shop and demanded cash from the tills.

 

  • 10/08/2023 15:23pm – Cnr Elliot & Sprigg Streets

Four intruders armed with knives stole 2 washing machines from a furniture store.

 

  • 12/08/2023 08:35am – Lusikisiki

A client called to report their office had been burgled overnight of a kettle and lightbulbs.

Access was gained via the roof, the alarm was not armed.

 

 

  • 12/08/2023 09:09am – Chatam Street

The response team responded to a panic signal from a pharmacy. The client confirmed that 4 armed men had made off with the petty cash.

 

  • 13/08/2023 07:52am – Delville Road

A client reported a break in at their office. Response went to check and found 2 broken windows but nothing had been stolen.

 

  • 13/08/2023 11:36am – Chatam Street

An outside security company reported a panic signal from a clothing store and response were dispatched. On arrival they were informed that a suspect had entered the store and demanded cash from the till.

 

  • 16/08/2023 07:20am – Park Road

A burglary was reported at a café, response went to look and were informed that cash and a television had been stolen.

 

  • 17/08/2023 03:27am – Mpindweni Location

The Protek team discovered a burglary after receiving alarm signals from a hardware store. Intruders had opened a hole in the wall and made off with cash.

 

  • 19/08/2023 18:29pm – Madeira Street

An outside security company asked for The Protek Team to accompany a clothing store owner when checking the shop as the alarm had been going off repeatedly. On opening, they noticed the ceiling damaged and a suspect locked inside.

 

  • 18/08/2023 11:57am – Northcrest

An attempted break in was discovered at a residence. Intruders had broken a window but failed to gain access.

 

  • 21/08/2023 00:57am – Mqanduli

Control contacted the guard at a clothing store after receiving signals. He confirmed that intruders had damaged the front door but had failed to gain access. He reported the incident to SAPs.

 

 

  • 22/08/2023 20:20pm – Mount Ayliff

A furniture shop burnt down along with all the stock and the alarm system.

 

  • 23/08/2023 08:57am – Eagle Street

2 armed men robbed a business of cash and equipment.

 

  • 23/08/2023 11:00am – Vulindlela Heights

Suspects attempted to hijack a client as he arrived at his hardware store. They failed to take the vehicle but fled with his phone.

 

  • 24/08/2023 16:11pm – Madeira Street

2 armed suspects robbed a business of cash.

 

  • 25/08/2023 18:00pm – Mount Frere

The client reported a break in at a business. Intruders had forced the front door and stolen computer equipment and damaged the alarm.

 

  • 26/08/2023 12:46pm – Madeira Street

3 Armed men robbed a furniture store of 5 televisions.

 

  • 28/08/2023 20:54pm – Mount Ayliff

Multiple alarms were received from a hotel and when the guard was contacted, he said everything was fine. Further alarms were received, each time the guard said everything was fine. The client then called to report seeing intruders inside the premises and SAPS and guards were contacted. It was reported the original guard had been held hostage by intruders who had gained access to the off sales via the roof.

 

  • 28/08/2023 16:10pm – Bridge Street

Response reacted to a panic signal from a cash and carry. It was confirmed that 3 armed men had fled with cash from the tills.

  • 29/08/2023 20:13pm – Hoadley Street

A client reported a break in at her residence. The intruders had gained access to the garage and made off with goods.
