Protek Incident Report October 2022

 

  • 04/10/2022 15:37pm – Madeira Street

Client reported a robbery at a service station. The response team were dispatched and were informed that a generator had been stolen from a truck that was delivering stock.

 

  • 04/10/2022 15:17pm – Cnr York & Leeds Road

An outside security company reported a panic signal from a business and the Protek response team were dispatched. On arrival they reported smoke coming from one of the offices. The fire service and the client were called. No injuries were sustained.

 

  • 06/10/2022 12:30 pm – Hillcrest Extinguisher

Armed response were dispatched to an alarm activation and confirmed a burglary at a residence. Intruders had forced a security bar and broken a window to gain access. Nothing was taken.

 

  • 05/10/2022 22:56 pm – Wesley Street

An alarm activation was received from an office and a positive break in confirmed. Nothing had been stolen.

 

  • 07/10/2022 10:56am – York Road

A shoplifter had been caught by staff with 2 items of clothing. She was told to either pay double the price or be handed over to SAPS. She opted to pay for the items.

 

  • 07/10/2022 12:12pm – Southernwood

A supermarket client called to report an intruder on the roof. All response were dispatched but no suspects were found. It was reported the intruder had stolen chocolates and cigarettes.

 

  • 07/10/2022 16:18pm – Durham Street

A panic was received from supermarket and on arrival the response team were informed that 4 armed men had fled with cash and cigarettes. The client declined to report it to SAPS.

 

  • 07/10/2022 21:19pm – Sutherland Street

 

The Protek response team reacted to an alarm activation from a Wholesalers. The client checked the cameras and reported an intruder. Back up vehicles were dispatched and the suspect was apprehended and taken to the police station.

 

 

  • 09/10/2022 07:26am – Prestwich Street.

A client reported her gate motor had been stolen during the night. The gate had been removed from the rail.

 

  • 10/10/2022 01:56am – Vulindlela Heights

Multiple signals were received from a business and response were dispatched. On arrival, intruders fired shots at them and escaped in 3 vehicles. It was reported they had stolen goods from a truck on the premises after beating and restraining the guards.

 

  • 10/10/2022 03:06am – Flagstaff

Multiple signals were received from a bottle store and the keyholder notified. He reported seeing someone in the store and SAPS were called and the manager went to double check but said all was fine. Later the guards called to report there had been a break in.

 

  • 13/10/2022 22:33pm – QweQwe Location

The response team were dispatched to a school after an alarm activation was received and on arrival discovered the computer lab had been broken in to. The key holder confirmed that one computer had been stolen, the guards onsite had not seen anything.

 

  • 16/10/2022 01:04pm – Idutywa

Onsite security were notified after an alarm activation was received from an off sales. They reported there was no problem. After the alarm activated a second time, security checked again and found intruders had gained access through the roof and stolen liquor.

 

  • 17/10/2022 02:28am – Mount Ayliff

The client was contacted after alarm signals were received. They reported back that there was a break in in progress. SAPS were informed and the guard confirmed having seen intruders stealing liquor.

 

  • 19/10/2022 14:44pm – Ngebs Mall

The Protek team responded to a panic signal from the mall where they were informed that a woman had been robbed of cash and had collapsed at the same time. SAPS and EMS were called.

  • 21/10/2022 00:31am – Vulindlela Heights

Intruders were spotted trying to break into a workshop by the guard. Shots were fired by both sides; no injuries were sustained and nothing was stolen.

 

  • 23/10/2022 09;00am – Southernwood

A client called to report a neighbour had heard a break in at his residence and response were dispatched. They confirmed copper pipes had been removed and some windows broken. They guarded the property until the client arrived from East London.

 

  • 27/10/2022 15:27am – Chatam Street

An outside security company reported a panic signal from a clothing store. The Protek team were dispatched and enroute, a robbery was confirmed. On arrival the staff informed them they had been robbed by four armed men who had fled.

 

  • 28/10/2022 12:16pm – Bridge Street

An outside security company requested response be sent to a clothing store where a robbery had been reported. The Protek response team arrived and were informed by staff that 3 armed men had taken cash from the tills and fled.

 

  • 28/10/2022 13:26pm – Cnr Owen & Elliot Streets

Panic signals were received from a clothing store and on arrival the response team were informed of an attempted robbery.

 

  • 28/10/2022 – Bridge Street

Client reported after the fact that their cash and carry had been robbed of cash.

 

  • 28/10/2022 22:16pm – Vulindlela Heights

An alarm activation was received form a business but the guards had chased the intruders away.

 

  • 29/10/2022 00:44am – Ncambedlana

The Protek team responded to alarm signals from a residence where it was discovered the front door open but the security gate closed. As the client was out of town, Protek provided a new padlock in order to secure the door.

 

  • 29/10/2022 02:17am – Furnace Street

An alarm activation was received from a business and response discovered a hole in the fence but the building was secure.

 

  • 29/10/2022 09:52am – WSU

A burglary was reported from the kitchen the previous night when there had been a function on and the alarm was not activated.

 

  • 29/10/2022 – York Road

Two customers were reported to have been robbed at an ATM by two men wearing masks.

 

  • 31/10/2022 17:48pm – Slovo Park

An attempted robbery occurred at a tavern. Staff pressed the panic button and the suspects fled.
