The Protek response team responded to an alarm activation at a business. On arrival it was confirmed that intruders had gained access by forcing the burglar bars at the rear. The client confirmed a small amount of alcohol had been stolen.
- 01/04/2022 01:46am – Sutherland Street
An outside security company called to report an alarm activation at a banking outlet. Our response team were dispatched but initially it appeared there was no breach from the front of the building. A second call came through that the security company were detecting movement inside the bank and on further inspection a trapdoor was found opened. With permission from the security company and with SAPS in attendance the team broke the front door and confirmed that the intruders had damaged the CCTV and alarm systems but not managed to take anything.
- 03/04/2022 15:41 pm – Vehicle Testing Station
The client came to the office to report a robbery on the 30/03/2022 where a guard had been held hostage whilst the safe was broken into and cash had been stolen. No alarm activation had been received by control.

A client called to report a grass cutting machine stolen from the garage. There was no forced entry.
- 03/04/2022 13:22 pm – Fortgale
Control received a report of a positive burglary at a house belonging to a church. The neighbour had noticed lights on when the premises should have been empty. The caretaker was called and they confirmed the front door and gate were broken and that all the household goods had been packed ready to be loaded. As the alarm was not working, we posted a guard for the night.

The response team responded to a panic signal from a business but the suspects fled as they approached. The attempted break in had been unsuccessful.
- 08/04/2022 17:36 pm – Southernwood
A client called for response after being informed by a neighbour of a broken window at their premises. The team confirmed a positive break in and the client who had been in at the time, discovered a pair of shoes and money had been stolen. The alarm had not been activated during the break in.
- 09/04/2022 00:34 am – Ngebs Mall
A suspect was caught on the roof attempting to steal lights. The mall staff opted to investigate the suspect themselves stating that they would inform SAPS once they had done so.
- 09/04/2022 08:47 am – Willowvale
A client from a burial scheme called to report having been held up the previous night. The intruders forced the back door and tied up the staff who were on the premises. They used a grinder to open the safe, stole the money inside and left after damaging the cameras and alarm.
- 11/04/2022 00:08 am – Nelson Mandela Drive
The response team were called to a petrol station where it was reported that 4 armed men had robbed an undisclosed amount of cash from the tills.
- 10/04/2022 23:58 pm – Sutherland Street
Response were dispatched to an alarm activation at business premises. On arrival, the guard from a neighbouring business informed them that suspects had stolen gas cylinders from the cage. After a search one of the cylinders was recovered and response remained on standby until the morning in case the suspects returned.
- 11/04/2022 16:59 pm – Cnr Bridge & Elliot Streets
A truck delivering meat to a store was robbed as they prepared to unload. Approximately 12 suspects managed to remove boxes from the truck and flee.
- 12/04/2022 20:30 pm – Libode
A client from a fuel station called to report they had been robbed by 3 armed men who had demanded cash, airtime and cigarettes. They armed men then hijacked a vehicle that was filling up, forced the driver out and fled. The driver of the hijacked vehicle was found to be a juvenile and was taken to SAPS.

Response were dispatched to a client who reported a positive break in. Intruders had removed a newly fitted window and stolen a generator; the client chose not to open a case.
- 13/04/2022 21:23 pm – Madeira Street
An outside security company reported an alarm activation at a furniture business. The Protek team responded and met the client at the premises. On opening the store, a hole in the roof and footprints were found. The client confirmed nothing had been stolen.
- 13/04/2022 pm – Slovo Park
Response were dispatched to an alarm activation at a tavern. On arrival a positive break in was confirmed with the intruders having gained access by bending the security bars at the rear. The client arrived and confirmed stock had been removed but she opted not to open a case.
- 13/04/2022 19:50 – Nelson Mandela Drive
During a robbery at a store, an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen from the tills and a guard was shot in the arm and rushed to hospital. SAPS were in attendance.
- 14/04/2022 03:05 am – Southernwood
A client called to report someone attempting to break into a guest’s vehicle at their Guest House. On arrival our team were informed a Quantum had been stolen. SAPS were called.
- 14/04/2022 23:06 pm – Northcrest
A client called for assistance when she arrived home to find her gate opened. Response were dispatched to check the premises and discovered the lid of the distribution board had been stolen.
- 14/04/2022 09:28 am – Southridge Park
A communication container was broken in to and cables were stolen.
- 16/04/2022 02:43 am – Vulindlela Heights
An outside security company reported signals from a business. On arrival, the Protek team spotted 5 men running from the premises and called for backup whilst attempting to catch the suspects. It was reported that the intruders had cut the fence and held the guard’s hostage while trying to access the safe room. The alarm activated and the suspects fled.

Clients were called after control received an illegal opening signal from a school. It was confirmed that intruders had gained access by forcing the security bars, nothing was stolen.
- 16/04/2022 22:51 pm – Ikwezi Township
The Protek response team were dispatched after receiving a panic signal from a school. The guard reported that intruders had damaged cameras but had fled when they spotted him.
- 17/04/2022 11:14 am – Circus Triangle
A response officer attended to a panic signal from a clothing store. On arrival it was reported that armed intruders had threatened the staff at gunpoint and made off with jackets and track suits.
- 17/04/2022 10:42 am – Libode
A client called to report a break in at a voting centre. A window had been broken but nothing was stolen.
- 18/04/2022 09:55 ama – Madeira Street
An outside security company called to report a positive break in at a furniture store. Our supervisor was dispatched and confirmed that the intruders had gained access via the roof and stolen stock including TV’s, laptops, microwaves and bicycles. The onsite guard had not seen anything and the alarm had been damaged.

Control received a signal from a school and response were dispatched. The team discovered a hole by the gate with outside lights having been broken and brooms found outside.
- 19/04/2022 09:55 am – King Edward Road
An outside security company reported intruders had gained access to a business by forcing the back door. A printer and cell phone were stolen and an empty safe opened. The alarm was damaged.
- 22/04/2022 17:21 pm – York Road
An outside security company called reporting a panic signal from a clothing store. The Protek team were dispatched and confirmed there had been an armed robbery. 6 Suspects had threatened the staff at gunpoint and taken cash from the tills along with hats and a cell phone. They had failed to open the safe and had fled.

Intruders accessed a clothing store by cutting the roof and damaging the alarm. Stock and cash from the safe were taken.
- 24/04/2022 09:57 am – Eagle Street
An outside security company reported a robbery at a business. The response team confirmed on arrival that 3 armed suspects had stolen TV’s and fled before the staff could press the panic button. They were driving a Mercedes Benz and a Toyota GD6.

The manager of a clothing store called to report a positive break in. Intruders had gained access via the roof and taken stock. The alarm had activated but SAPS were unavailable.
- 24/04/2022 16:27 pm – Sprigg Street
A suspect was caught attempting to rob a building store with a toy gun. SAPS were called.
- 24/04/202216:00 pm – Norwood
A guard at a school caught a suspect in the principal’s office. It was reported that other suspects had escaped with a computer after breaking down a door to gain access.
- 25/04/2022 07:35 am – York Road
Client called to report a break in at an auto store after the locks were cut and the door forced. Stock and cash were stolen and the alarm damaged.
- 25/04/2022 11:55 am – York Road
A courier was robbed outside a business whilst the driver was unloading.
- 27/04/2022 21:54 pm – Southernwood
The Protek team responded to a panic from residence. The key holder was called who reported a suspicious man on site. On arrival they were informed that the man had left so they checked the camera footage to observe what he looked like and searched the neighbourhood for him. The man had gained access via a window that was not properly closed and had stolen a small stove.

Client called to report a break in and our supervisor responded. On investigation it was found that the burglary had been from a newly extended room that did not have alarm protection. Old clothing had been stolen.
- 29/04/2022 00:41 am – Vulindlela Heights
A response officer responded to a panic signal at a warehouse, on arrival he met a suspect disguised as a guard. The officer asked him to open the gate and when the suspect refused our officer pretended to leave but instead called for backup. The suspect realised and fled with the guard’s cell phone, panic remote and gate keys.

Response reacted to a panic signal from a grocery shop. On arrival they were informed that a man and a woman had run into the shop stating they were fleeing from street kids. The woman then proceeded to start eating food which she was unable to pay for. The man promised to pay and used his cell phone as collateral.

A client called for assistance reporting armed people in her yard. Response arrived and confirmed a vehicle had been stolen. SAPS were informed.
- 29/04/2022 11:00 am – Eagle Street
A courier van was robbed outside a business premises whilst the driver was unloading.
- 30/04/2022 22:38 pm – Slovo Park
5 armed men held the cashier at a business at gunpoint and stole cash, cigarettes and liquor.
