Incident Report – January 2022

  • 02/10/2022 00:19 Prestwich Street, Mthatha Central

The Protek response team were dispatched to an alarm activation at a business. The client reported having heard a noise from the garage. The alarm appeared to have deterred a possible break in and nothing was taken.

 

  • 02/01/2022 03.45 Ngangelizwe

A guard at Senior Primary School spotted intruders on site and pressed the panic. Our response team caught the intruders and they were handed over to SAPS.

 

  • 02/01/2022 18:12 Khaya Majola Oval

Perpetrator’s broke into a sports facility and the Protek response team discovered all the windows were broken. They called the out the client who confirmed that a tv and a bag of balls had been stolen.

The following day our supervisor discovered the tv on site during a meeting with the client.

 

  • 02/01/2022 23:12 York Road

 

A panic was pressed at a business in York Road and the response team were dispatched. On arrival the guard informed them he had heard a noise from a neighbouring fast-food outlet. On inspection the team found the back door to their cash office opened. The Protek control room informed the neighbours security company.

 

  • 03/01/2022 21:54 Vulindlela Heights

 

An outside security company reported a panic signal from a business and Protek responded. On arrival the guard informed our team that a truck had struck a car at the gate and the driver was believed to be under the influence, SAPS were informed.

 

  • 06/01/2022 00:31 Mpindweni Location

 

The response confirmed a positive burglary at a business with the intruders having forced open a security gate and entered through an unlocked door. Cigarettes and sweets were stolen and the alarm damaged.

 

 

 

  • 08/01/2022 07:50 Lowry Street, Fort Gale

 

Protek Response discovered a broken window at a premises in Lowry Street. They called out the client who confirmed there had been a positive break in but nothing had been taken.

 

 

  • 08/01/2022 19:15 Hillcrest Extension

 

A client at a residence pressed the panic the after a drunk driver hit her wall. As SAPS were unreachable, she hired a guard to protect the property and ensure the driver was accountable.

 

 

  • 10/01/22 07:44 Southernwood Houses

 

Client reported that the gate was damaged at their residence, response confirmed there had been no entry.

 

 

 

  • 10/02/2022 08:39 Fort Gale

 

Response was dispatched in reply to panic signals at a residence with the client reporting a suspect on the premises. On arrival the Protek team saw the suspect jump into a neighbouring property where he stabbed someone. The suspect was caught and handed over to SAPS.

 

 

  • 14/01/2022 01:59 Fort Gale

 

Client requested assistance at a B&B. Response reported that there had been an attempted theft of a guest’s vehicle. The intruder had gained access by putting the gate on manual.

The client was advised on how to prevent a repeat occurrence.

 

  • 15/01/2022 05.01 Nelson Mandela Drive

 

Response responded to a panic from a business. On arrival it was found that a drunk driver had knocked into the wall. The client and response agreed they would keep the car keys so the driver would not be a further danger on the road and would need to return in the morning to be held accountable.

Multiple signals were received from a bottle store. The guard was called and he reported that the manager had left the shop but had not closed up, suspected to be under the influence.

We informed the other key holders.

A guard pressed the panic after seeing suspects in an unalarmed outbuilding at a business. The Protek response team reacted but the suspect’s had left after hearing the alarm.

 

 

  • 17/01/2022 12:52 Cnr Elliot & Bridge Street

 

An outside security company requested assistance during a robbery at a business in town. Protek responded and reported that suspects had robbed a truck that was about to offload and a substantial amount of stock had been stolen.

 

  • 19/01/2022 03.05 Park Road

Response reacted to a panic signal from a Guest House. On arrival they were informed that intruders had attempted to steal a Quantum parked on the premises, access had been gained by removing a section of the wooden fence. The alarm deterred the intruders.

 

  • 21/01/2022 03:40 Vulindlela Heights

A guard from a business in Vulindlela Heights called to report an armed robbery. The Protek response team where dispatched and on arrival were informed by the guard that 7 armed suspects had gained access via the roof and broken into the safe. SAPS were informed.

 

  • 21/01/2022 05:25 Vulindlela Heights

A client called for assistance as their truck was on fire at their business.

The Fire Service were dispatched.

 

 

  • 01/2022 01:08 Ikwezi Township

Multiple panic signals were received from a garage. On arrival the Protek response team were informed an armed robbery had occurred. The suspects had forced the night staff into the shop where they were robbed of money, cigarettes and the staff cell phones.

 

 

  • 24/01/2022 09:04 Zamukulungisa

The Principal of a Junior Secondary School reported a break in, Intruders had forced the burglar bars and broken the window. A grass cutter was stolen.

 

  • 25/01/2022 05:15 Ngebs Mall

The response team reacted to a panic signal and on arrival they apprehended a suspect who was caught trying to break in to the receiving area of a retail store. The suspect was taken to SAPS.

 

  • 28/01/2022 02:05 Qumbu

Suspects cut the wire fence and took drinks that were packed outside a bottle store. Guards saw them and recovered the stock. As SAPS were unreachable, security detained the suspects in the office until morning.

 

 

  • 28/01/2022 21:37 Ngqeleni

An armed suspect held the cashier hostage at a bottle store whilst he loaded his vehicle with stock. SAPS were informed.

 

 

  • 30/01/2022 06:11 Sutherland Street

The Protek response team responded to multiple signals from a college and caught a suspect who had gained access by breaking a window. The client confirmed that equipment had been damaged but nothing stolen. The suspect was handed over to SAPS.

 

 

  • 31/01/2022 08:00 Errol Spring

Client called to report that a Quantum that had been parked at a business premises had been stolen. No signal was received.
